Battlefield 6 Gamers Concur: Tasks Are Way Too Hard
The release of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 received significant enthusiasm, especially for its premier multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, live player figures surged to nearly 750,000. However, in spite of its success, an increasing amount of players are expressing frustration over some of the game's toughest challenges, which are mandatory to unlock specific weapons.
Players have started turning to tailored sessions made via the custom game tool to complete them, underscoring just how demanding these missions have become.
Comprehending Battlefield 6 Assignments
Tasks represent Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, as opposed to the periodically changed daily and weekly challenges. There are four categories of assignments, but where most merely grant cosmetics and some tools, finishing the gun missions is the only way of getting 12 of the 41 main guns present in the game.
Several of these locked weapons may soon earn a place on lists of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.
Community Frustration across Reddit
Over on Reddit, players are understandably voicing their concerns about how difficult and grindy several of these challenges are. An individual player highlighted one of the most outrageous examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
- Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs
"This task is so atrocious and entirely ill-conceived, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a quote that summarizes just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.
The suppression mechanic in Battlefield is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many advantages in battle as it used to in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.
Meanwhile, firing an LMG without aiming is wildly inaccurate and functions solely at very short distances, which is not usually a position you prefer to be. The commenter also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which requires kills while aiming down the sights, when that mission would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and vice versa.
Another Overly Demanding Task
One more community participant pointed out another ridiculously tough challenge, within the sniper rifle category to unlock the PSR:
- Achieve 150 headshot eliminations over 200m with long-range weapons
This is difficult enough by itself, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at that kind of range.
There is a decent selection of map sizes, but given there are merely nine maps in the game at present, it implies you must stick to playing New Sobek City, a particular valley environment, and perhaps Operation Firestorm in a best-case scenario if you want to snipe from over 200m away.
The Bypass
There is a workaround though: the portal. This portal feature is a system that permits you to make custom game modes on the battleground of your choice, complete with bots. This allows you can bypass the intended method… but it doesn't really seem like the spirit of the game.
But when tackling the tasks in a proper game seems counterproductive, since you are forced to participate in such an unorthodox manner that harms both you and your squad, who can fault a player for grinding them out in a private match so squad members are not disadvantaged?
Potential Changes
It should not be shocking if several of these tasks are adjusted to be less difficult in the coming days or weeks, because should they remain unchanged, some players simply are unlikely to obtain the gated weapons.
At the moment, the player base continues to express their views on these strenuous battlefield assignments, anticipating a fairer player experience in coming revisions.
