The Canadian skeleton team have been absolved of charges that they deliberately manipulated a selection race for the upcoming Games, thereby denying rival athletes a spot to qualify.

US skeleton veteran a five-time Olympian alleged the team from Canada of withdrawing a majority of its competitors from a race in Lake Placid. “Existing federation regulations permit National Federations to pull competitors from competition at any time,” stated the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation (IBSF).

Representatives of the US, Denmark, Israel, and Malta had voiced “deep worry” about the selection system's integrity.
