Chopper Spirals Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Frequented California Shoreline
A chopper soaring above a popular southern California beach suddenly began spiraling wildly, finally dropping height and crashing into a line of palm groves as onlookers observed.
Videos uploaded online capture the chopper beginning to twirl near the shoreline then descending in the direction of the perimeter of the shore, where it gets stuck between palm groves and a set of stairs near the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Update
Local firefighters said five people were taken to hospital involving a pair who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the accident on the weekend.
Three individuals on the pavement were harmed. Details on their injuries were still under review.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.

Authorities indicated the helicopter was associated with an annual “Cars N Copters” fundraising event planned for the following day.
