The Streaming Platform is Producing a Popular Game TV Series from the Producers of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.
The newest action-packed instalment that players explored was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. As a series, it has a reputation for celebrating chaos and mayhem with the same glee, all while weaving captivating, socially charged stories. Little surprise that the network’s decision for a Far Cry limited-run show brought on board two producers whose projects have represented all of those elements.
Show Details
Adapted from Ubisoft's popular video game franchise, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The show will also parallel the video games' format by featuring a fresh setting and cast of characters in subsequent series.
Executive Team
Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as showrunners on the series via their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
“FX has had excellent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are working together for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is original, gripping, and wildly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our partners at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this beloved property.”
Upcoming Developments
Mac will also feature in the show, but currently, we have no details on what part that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just renewed for another season, with FX and Disney finalizing a new long-term contract with the creator.
“Being able to collaborate alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly supportive, placing faith in us with one of the most iconic video-game realms ever created. And along the way, my FX team constantly supports me with their steady belief and support.”
“What I love about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an standalone program. Every title is a variation of a theme, the same way every run of Fargo is a variation on a story,” explained Hawley. “To produce a large-scale action show that can shift from one instalment to the next, while always delving into the essence of society through this intricate and turbulent lens, is a dream come true. I’m eager to partner with Rob and introduce our common irreverent, visionary approach to the television.”
A schedule for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
